Pre Game Scoop
What do we know about organic products? Well, if you follow us on our blog, or you pay attention to the world of nutrition and healthy living, going organic has been a wide spread phenomenon/movement that is here to say.
Now, we know its not cheap to eat organic, and there are so many niche options hitting the market these days, so lets talk about some key points that might save you some coin the next time you go shopping.
Keys To The Game
An organic label indicates that a product was grown without antibiotics or growth hormones, synthetic or sewage-based fertilizer, synthetic pesticides, ionizing radiation or bioengineering, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Thick-skinned produce more then likely (meaning usually) does well in regular conditions (not under the staunch organic guidelines of growing, just plain old conventional), based on its pesticide content.
Fruits, extremely important source of calories, obviously we must take a look at a few factors; sugar and placement on the glycemic index, and quality, are a part of this thick skinned produce category that you don’t always have to buy organic.
Here is a short list of fruits least susceptible to pesticide contamination include:
Pineapples
Avocados
Honeydew melon
Grapefrui
Cantaloupe
Mangoes
Eggplant
Watermelon
Kiwi
To prevent any possible residual pesticide contamination, wash fruit well before cutting, peeling and eating and enjoy!!!!
Pest-resistant Veggies include:
Asparagus
Cabbag
Sweet Potatoes
Onions
Other varieties less likely to harbor pesticides include; Corn, Sweet Peas and Tomatoes.
Post Game Analysis
So there are a few items you can purchase at regular prices (as opposed to the higher organic prices) and save some money while continuing to eat clean and stay away from all the bad stuff (simply put).
The Team4orce research and destroy to rebuild team (RDR) encourages you to do your own research and take a look at some of our older blog content that speaks on this particular topic.
The Pre Game Break Down
The art of finding an establishment of higher quality food and enjoyable taste and service is tough these days. How about finding a restaurant that you could have a full menu of choices for either a cheat meal or a healthy meal at anytime of the day? Rare, well in the case of the counter, medium rare is more appropriate (that’s what’s recommended by the folks that are at your service) and they definitely deliver the goods. The concept is simple, let them build it, and they will come! Give them options and they will come often, and give them high quality options and they will join the counter culture.
Succulent burgers, a variety of gourmet fries, ranging from the health conscious sweet potato fries to the taste bud favorite, parmesan fries. Famous fried pickles, hand crafted milk shakes and malts, and the highest quality meat, chicken and turkey and gourmet toppings really put this burger joint in a league of its own.

Macadamia Nut Oil
The Macro: Simply put, this is a high quality, healthy fat, and it’ll be one of the foundation building blocks for all your Team4orce Lifestyle cooking. It’s still okay to use E.V.O. and almond or even grape seed oil to cook with or as a salad topper as well. We have just found the flavor of this oil to be that good. Its naturally high smoke point (400-450° F) allows for excellent cooking versatility, and even helps reduce the production of trans fatty acids.
The Micro: Enriched with omega 3, 6 (It contains up to 85% monounsaturated fats), it packs quiet the healthy fat punch. And lets not forget another unique feature of macadamia oil is its palmitoleic acid content. Palmitoleic acid is an omega-7 monounsaturated fat which has positive affects on blood lipids, something we are always looking to improve, especially with age.
There have been studies that found that macadamia nut oils are rich sources of squalene, a naturally occurring antioxidant that’s primarily used in our bodies to synthesize both cholesterol and vitamin D, but its role in macadamia nuts may be to prevent oxidative damage.

The amount of calories was the same if not slightly lower then the average leading brand of a lite or low fat yogurt. The important part to note is that the calories are coming from a small amount of fat and 12 whopping grams of protein! Carbohydrates are significantly low, weighing at a mere 4 grams per serving of yogurt.
The next best thing about this yogurt is the taste, it wasn’t to dry or unfresh tasting, it still tasted like yogurt! If that isn’t good enough for you, the variety (over 12 flavors?) and price point will keep you coming back for more.
So go ahead and take a look at your local Ralph’s Supermarket or any other local market that stocks Kroger.
