Team4orce was originally founded in 2008 as a creative outlet to promote our head-quarters and store front, which at the time was Nutrition 4 Less; in La Verne, Ca. ”I wanted to stand out, use what we had with the store but create a Nike-esque brand, so I created the Team4orce brand, hoping that it would become a household name and a fixture in sports nutrition and amongst other life-style brands.
The concept, which was drafted in the mind of founder Michael “Argyle” Avelar was simple; bring together what we do inside and outside of the store, to create a nutrition shop that breaks the mold and tears down the stereo-types of the typical national (GNC/Vitamin Shoppe) and smaller ma and pa (Max Muscle/NutraShop) stores. Develop the blue-print for a cutting edge, street-wear boutique styled shop that’s atmosphere/experience was an extension of our personalities (you got to put some flavor on it son!). We are starting the movement for a new style of nutrition store, one that would most likely be duplicated in the future. All this would allow the most novice of clients, to the most educated shopper, to tap into the wide-world of sports nutrition and healthy living through the mind of Team4orce.

Michael combined 4orces with current partner and co-owner Manny Pinedo in 2009 and the Madd (Music and Design Dude/that’s into a healthy and yoky life-style) put the Madd Good touch on all design aspects and launched the site in 2010. Manny P. helped push things to the next level and developed the now infamous Kay Bee character logo. He definitely was key in every sense of the word to the success of this young company.
